Ministry of Health approves new regime for Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians
The Ministry of Health has approved the new regime for Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians, which will take effect from the 1st of September.
With this new regime, the Minister of Health ensures that, regardless of the coexistence of two contractual relationships – in the State entrepreneurial sector and in the Public Administrative Sector – , senior diagnostic and therapeutic technicians within the NHS, may have a professional progression and technical and scientific differentiation, which also enables interinstitutional mobility, with the corresponding rights and duties.
These professionals are technicians who perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical activities, namely biomedical laboratory sciences, medical and radiation imaging, biosynthesis, therapy and rehabilitation, vision, hearing, oral health, pharmacy, orthoprotesia or public health.
The career is developed in three categories:
- Senior technician for diagnostic and therapeutic areas;
- Senior technician for diagnostic and specialist therapeutics;
- Senior technician for diagnostic and main specialist therapy.
